Painting Storage Rack
In this video I build a painting storage rack for an artist family member, Austin Cotes (austincoates.art). The rack was commissioned by his wife as a surprise. The video was shot in a way to not reveal what I’m making till the end, so that the video could be used to reveal the surprise.
The quote on the front plaque is "Where I create, there I am true." which is attributed to Rainer Maria Rilke.
There are several Easter eggs throughout the video. The below chapter times will take you to each one.

00:12 - Quote on the box flap on the right, "The job of the artist is always to deepen the mystery" - Francis Bacon

“Fatal flaw” No… maybe a flaw (to some), but a regular tape measure can’t do 1/10th of the convenient things the T1 can. Nothing is perfect, but at least admit when something is a good product. This is like Porsche building a revolutionary new car, but the heated seats don’t heat up fast enough for you so you call it a trash car. Maybe I’m reading you wrong, but sure seems like you are basically calling this a trash product. Which if you are, is CRAZY.

I just bought one, and I’ve noticed other people also complain about the locking mechanism. My locking mechanism does not push in nearly as easily as yours and others I’ve seen in other videos. I can get it to retract, but not nearly as easily as yours. I’m a construction superintendent so my use for this is checking other people work, and verifying measurements. I think it works great for this, and saves me time on doing layout.

Hey Adam, appreciate the review and feedback. The auto lock mechanism is intentionally designed like that and needs to be balanced between locking and not wearing out instantly (as grip and wear resistance are inversely correlated). @@REEKONTools - I get it's an inconvenient truth, but getting free product is payment and incentivizes people (influencers 🤮) to not speak honestly on the bad things about a product. If I 💩on your product, fair or not, you're probably not going to send me anymore free stuff. While a reviewer/influencer may not rely on the product directly (there not turning around and selling it for example), they do rely on being able to create content around the product(s) they receive for free. They need the product to make content, you want your product to be promoted, you have a symbiotic relationship. It's quid pro quo, it's you scratch our back, we'll scratch yours. That no longer works (for you) if the reviewer/influencer is saying bad things about your product. If it no longer works for you, it no longer works for the reviewer/influencer because you're no longer going to send them free product to make their content around. While the reviewer/influencer may have the best of intentions, this symbiotic relationship is ripe for creating perverse incentives. You don't have to directly influence the review via editorial approval or have it spelled out in the contract, because the understanding of what you do for the reviewer/influencer and what they do for you is baked into the *business relationship* you create when you exchange goods (your product) for services (the review).
